Isaac Regional Council values our history and has a responsibility in the Queensland State to identify, locate and record the condition heritage sites.

Council is commencing a cultural asset mapping project in order to meet legislative requirements under the Queensland Heritage Act 1992 and Sustainable Planning Act 2009.

This project will help inform us on the value of history in our area and will be used to inform future town planning, tourism strategies and routine maintenance requirements. It may also identify local heritage sites for assessment for inclusion in the Isaac Local Heritage Register.

To achieve this region-wide task, we’re asking for help from our communities.

Project briefing sessions will be held in Isaac communities to gather this valuable information.

We invite you to join us along this journey of finding important historical sites and cultural items.
