ABC and SBS TV reception discontinued - Glenden and Coastal communities
ABC’s decision to change its satellite transmission arrangement on October 3, 2017 means residents in the Isaac region are unable to receive the free-to-air broadcasts.
SBS is set to follow suit on Friday, November 24, 2017.
Isaac Regional Council is looking for a way to provide free-to-air TV and radio services to Glenden, St Lawrence, Carmila and Clairview.
Residents in this affected area currently receive free-to-air transmissions through Council-owned infrastructure.
Isaac Regional Council is among 25 local governments across Australia that have been negatively impacted by these decisions.
Council is working toward restoring the ABC and SBS TV services in December.
Options are currently available to residents other than Council’s owned free-to-air service.
These options can be accessed by contacting a preferred satellite service or online streaming service providers.
Council will update residents as soon as new information becomes available.
If you require further information please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).
