Creative sparks to inspire new experiences
Five local artists are preparing to share their knowledge and passion with the community through a series of exciting art workshops on offer at Moranbah Library throughout 2019.
Aimed at sparking creativity and imagination in adult participants, the workshops will provide an opportunity to experience acrylic flow painting, beeswax wrap making, indigenous art, macramé and mixed media art.
Moranbah artists Lyn Busk, Gaylin Duin, Peata Munro, Sara Sheridan and Shawnnita Fairbairn will facilitate the individual workshops in partnership with Moranbah library during special ‘after hours’ sessions.
Mayor Anne Baker said the workshops were a chance for community members to meet, engage and create art in a space designed for inspiring imagination and creativity.
“Our Isaac libraries offer so much more than just books,” Mayor Baker said.
“The workshops being offered at Moranbah Library this year are yet another example of the ways in which our libraries’ staff continually seek to provide unique and interesting activities for the community to engage in.
“We know that creativity can help to connect and energise people, improve mental health and wellbeing and empower and strengthen our communities and networks.
“The Isaac region is very fortunate to have many talented local artists willing to share their work, experience and passion for their craft with others.
