First half - yearly water notice due March 5

Ratepayers can expect their first half-yearly water notice to arrive in the mail from next week.

The first payable water notice has been issued for the period July 1, 2017 to December 31, 2017.

Residents are encouraged to pay before 5pm on Monday, March 5, 2018.

If you haven’t received a water notice by Monday, February 12 please contact 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227).

Water charges are in effect which aligns the Isaac region with many other towns and cities across Queensland.

From the Building Isaac’s Future 2017-18 Budget handed down in July 2017, Council invested a total of $33.4 million in water and wastewater maintenance and infrastructure works.

This focus on enhancing water and wastewater services had been reflected in a 20 per cent decrease in water quality issue reporting in 2017.

Most notably there was a decrease of more than 58 per cent in reports of water quality issues in Moranbah, 66 per cent in Dysart and 37 per cent in Middlemount.

Ratepayers can sign up to MiWater, a website that provides water consumption information.

Users can set email and SMS alerts and be notified of water leaks and high consumption within days of occurrence, see
