Herb your enthusiasm for the Matt and Costa cook-off
Will celebrity chef Matt Golinski make 2019 Gold Logie nominee Costa Georgiadis weed it and reap?
Or will Costa shrimply make Matt a little shellfish around the kitchen?
It may be whisky business but here’s a rare opportunity to see the 2019 St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend superstars go head-to-head in an outdoor cook-off this weekend.
Visitors and residents are encouraged to beat the crowd and buy their general admission tickets online for this Saturday and Sunday as entry is limited.
Isaac Regional Council Mayor Anne Baker said glamping packages, the Greater Whitsunday Food Network (GWFN) Farm to Plate celebrations, Welcome to Wetlands Evening and the Bushman’s Dinner are all sold out.
“We’re exceptionally excited there’s been so much interest in the Wetlands Weekend as the St Lawrence coastline is set to burst into life,” Mayor Baker said.
“Even though some of our signature events are completely booked out, residents and visitors alike have a chance to beat the crowd and book their entry tickets online via EventBrite as there’s still a lot on offer.
“Trek through the bush for an immersive experience as you tour the wetlands and learn more about endangered birdlife, turtles and reef or get hands-on and artistic with creative arts workshops.
“Costa will be burrowing into his field of gardening knowledge in a four-part series of workshops this Saturday with Matt gearing up for some cooking demonstrations on Sunday.
“Then it’s going to be a chef and gardener stand off in the wetlands outdoor kitchen.
"This is honestly an unspoilt adventure you don't want to miss.”
Visit wetlandsweekend.com.au to book your $10 entry ticket to avoid disappointment ahead of the weekend’s festivities.
This year’s St Lawrence Wetlands Weekend is proudly supported by Isaac Regional Council in conjunction with GWFN, Reef Catchments, Fitzroy Basin Association and Mackay Tourism.
