Waste diversion to comply with regulations
To comply with Queensland Government regulations, Council will divert waste from its Dysart Waste Management Facility to Moranbah landfill from March 1.
This is to comply with an acceptance threshold of less than 2,000 tonnes per year at the Dysart landfill site.
Council’s contractor will be emptying the waste collection vehicle at Moranbah from March 1, 2019.
Residents in Dysart and Middlemount are encouraged to ensure their red top and yellow top wheelie bins out for collection by 6am on normal collection days.
This change in waste diversion will not affect householders directly however it might mean a change to collection times as the driver will need to alter the regular collection route.
Householders will still be able to use the Dysart and Middlemount waste facilities to drop off household waste as usual between the trading hours which can be found on Council’s website at www.isaac.qld.gov.au/waste-management-facilities
Before lifting the lid, consider what you place in your bins by also visiting Council’s website for some tips.
