Right now, an exciting opportunity exists for a permanent term full time Heavy Vehicle Operator to join our Engineering and Infrastructure Directorate based in Clermont. Located approximately 109km inland from Emerald, Clermont is a small mining community that prides itself in its picturesque local scenery, rich history and various recreational activities. Local families deeply value the town as a great place to raise children in a safe and secure environment; one that people from all walks of life flock to.
As part of our Roads crew in Clermont, this position will report to the Team Leader – Infrastructure and is responsible for the operation and service of plant for construction and maintenance works and the floating of plant and equipment to projects as required (mainly in rural areas). This position may involve staying in Councils mobile camp facilities on job sites or staying in Council fatigue accommodation located within remote areas of Isaac Regional Council.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- A minimum 6 months’ experience as a road train driver (or similar)
- Experience repairing and maintaining plant equipment, including basic mechanical and general maintenance duties
- The ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- White Card (Construction Industry)
- Current HC Class Australian Drivers Licence however an MC Open Class Australian Drivers Licence would be highly regarded
If successful in this position, we will give you:
- Salary $71,319.68 per annum plus allowances
- Nominally 38 hours per week
- RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- Up to 12.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement.
