Isaac Regional Council’s Arts and Cultural Policy defines Council’s commitment to arts and cultural development in the Isaac region and informs Council in setting arts and cultural priorities for programs, facilities and activities in the region.

The Isaac Arts and Cultural Advisory Committee will assist Council with the implementation of these policies, plans and strategies by providing specialist knowledge, a community interface and advocacy.    The Term of Reference describes the purpose and composition of the committee.  It provides scope and framework for the committee’s operation and details the roles and responsibilities of its members. 

If you are interested in joining the committee, please read the Terms of Reference, complete the Expression of Interest form and provide the necessary supporting documents so that Council may assess your suitability for joining the committee.

Coalface Art Gallery

Dysart Art Space

Dysart LibraryLocated in the Central Queensland coal mining town of Dysart, the Art Space provides a local exhibition space for local and regional art, craft and creative practitioners. It is a small gallery within the library building and is well-suited for new and emerging practitioner's exhibitions. Curatorial assistance can be requested for a first exhibition.

Clermont Historical Centre

Clermont Historical CentreWinner of the Isaac Regional Council Award for Heritage and Cultural Tourism for the 2015 Mackay Region Tourism Awards. 

100 Objects Exhibition

The Clermont Historical Centre is located on the Peak Downs Highway, approximately 2km from the town of Clermont.

$6 adults, $4 pensioners, $3 children under 12yrs
$15 family with two or more children.

Opening hours:
Wednesday to Saturday
9am to 3pm

The Clermont Historical Centre has a full time Museum Project Officer and a dedicated full time Caretaker to provide a high quality space and exhibition program to the community. These positions are testament to Council's commitment to the Clermont community and the preservation of local and regional heritage.

A Strategic Business Plan (PDF, 2.62 MB) for the Clermont Historical Centre was recently developed with the aim of building the centre into a community hub and key tourist attraction for the town of Clermont.

Historic Nebo Museum

Nebo Historic MuseumOpened in the early 1980s, the museum is the result of many locals coming together to gather relics and information on the town's past. Nebo has a diverse and interesting history.

Payable gold was discovered in 1881 at Mount Britton, and within a few weeks a bustling township blossomed. Many enterprising people moved to the area and played a large part in the development of the region. Their interesting tales and experiences are worth discovering.

Historical Collections

Isaac Regional Council's Regional Library Service holds collections of historical, original items of local significance in each of it's eight libraries.
