Water Restrictions

Level 1 water restrictions, Middlemount
Isaac Regional Council wishes to advise the Middlemount community that the current Level 3 water restrictions have been lowered to Level 1 in Middlemount, effective from Friday, 5 November 2021.
Council has considered the methodologies that could be applied to water supply and consumption, to manage demand and reduce prolonged water restrictions.
Water Conservation Measures
Watering days
- Odd numbered premises water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
- Even numbered premises water on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
- Properties without a Council prescribed street number may water on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- The reason for these watering days is to reduce the cost of infrastructure upgrades and operations, keeping the cost of service low.
These measures are best practice and should be used all year round.
- No hand held hoses between 9am-5pm daily
- No fixed sprinklers, micro-spray, drip irrigation systems nor unattended hoses between 9am to 5pm daily
- No watering between 9am-5pm daily
- Private cars, trucks, boats and motor flushing to be cleaned on grass areas where possible using buckets and a final rise with a water efficient nozzle hose at any time.
- Gutters should not be cleaned by using a hand-held hose
- Paths not to be hosed down unless using a bucket and mop or high pressure device. Exceptions: if cleaning is required as a result of accidents, removal of algae growth, moss, etc or prior to painting.
They are not enforceable unless under specific water restrictions level 1-4.
