Expressions of interest for Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group members

987 Converted

Council is embarking on the development of its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to lay the foundations for reconciliation actions across the Isaac region. We are seeking Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and community members that have a strong connection to our First People to join a working group that will help drive our RAP development and subsequent implementation.

The RAP will provide a framework to embed and advance the principles and purpose of national reconciliation within our workplaces and in the projects, programs and services we deliver. Through our RAP we aspire to continue to build respect for, develop strong connections with and recognise the history, culture and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

The Working Group will help develop a co-designed plan which will include a powerful set of ideas and strategies that assists Council to achieve while building stronger relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

Council is inviting expressions of interest to participate in the working group to oversee the development and implementation of the RAP and assist in the development of yearly action plans for reporting of the RAP.

Expressions of interest are due by COB Friday 15 September 2023.
