As part of a small, dedicated team, you will ensure that Council’s assets are maintained effectively and efficiently, and that a high level of public satisfaction is achieved with the service that we provide. Your responsibilities will include to undertake horticultural and sports field maintenance throughout Moranbah.
- Undertake turf, garden and irrigation maintenance and aesthetic improvements
- Undertake landscape construction and parks & recreation infrastructure projects
- Achieve a high standard of presentation and public satisfaction
- Safely and effectively work in our parks & recreation environment
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience within parks and recreation teams, preferably in Local Government.
- Well-developed communication skills both oral and written including use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Relevant Horticultural certificates and / or experience with willingness to obtain qualifications in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or Sports Turf Management (minimum Cert III)
- White Card (Construction Industry)
- Current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence
If successful in this position, we will give you:
- Salary $79,607.52 to $96,953.73 per annum plus allowances
- Subsidised Council housing at $80/week

- Nominally 38 hours per week
- RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
