Join the Cooberrie Park Wildlife team from Yeppoon, who will introduce an array of wildlife species for our guests to interact with and understand the importance of wildlife sanctuaries.

Cooberrie Park began as a botanical garden more than 100 years ago.

In 1973, rescued wildlife started to arrive, and each year, more than 100 sick, injured, and orphaned animals are rehabilitated and released back into the wild.

Cooberrie Park also provides long-term care for wildlife that cannot be released back into the wild.

These animals become ambassadors for their species, as they are either too injured to return to the wild or were victims of the illegal pet trade.

They are transferred from government departments and the RSPCA.

Cooberrie Park also has a successful breeding program for koalas and cassowaries.

An interactive stage conversation will take place during the day, where all our young guests get to bond up close and personal with many wonderful species.
