Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plumber to join our Water and Waste department in Moranbah for a fixed-term opportunity until November 2025. You will be responsible for maintaining plumbing and water reticulation services across the Isaac Regional Council. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the well-being of our communities.
To be successful in this position, you will:
- Have a caring attitude, paired with a positive work ethic and demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team to reach a shared goal;
- Proficiency in water and waste reticulation works, including domestic plumbing;
- Experience in scheduled maintenance works and water meter readings;
- Ability to supervise and mentor plumbing apprentices;
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements for water and waste treatment plants;
- Meet water quality guidelines as per government legislation;
- Manage maintenance procedures for water treatment plants (WTP) and sewage treatment plants (STP);
- Have strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
Qualifications:
- Trade qualifications in plumbing.
- Current C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence;
- Confined Space Entry certificate or ability to obtain;
- Blue/White card and General Safety Induction card for the Construction industry;
- Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment.
If you are successful in this position, you will receive:
- Salary $73,119.47 per year, plus allowances
- Market Loading Allowance - $11,000.00 per year (pro rata)
- Tool Allowance - $3,380.00 per year
- Locality Allowance – up to $1479.40 per year
- Construction Worker allowance (paid for all relevant hours)
- Nominally 76hours per fortnight or reduced/flexible hours for the right candidate
- Subsidised Council housing: $80.00 per week
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading (pro rata)
- Up to 14% super in accordance with Council Policy
