As a Clermont cattle grazier, Frank Finger and his kelpie working dog, Annie, have stolen the hearts of the nation by building community bonds through their prized volunteer work. A third-generation farmer, Frank is known for his unwavering commitment to the agricultural industry, his deep love for muster dogs, and his passion for sharing stories with residents at MontCler.
A national award winner from the Muster Dogs series, Frank has helped raise the profile of the Clermont and Isaac regions across Australia. He has made appearances with his dogs at numerous local events, including the Long Drive for Drought, the Clermont Gold and Coal Festival, and the Beef Expo.
Frank and his family regularly host dog training schools, sharing their experience with fellow cattle producers and promoting humane treatment and personal interaction with working dogs. He is also a strong advocate for local tourism, opening his grazing land to prospectors and visitors.
As an industry advisor to the Agricultural Program at Clermont High School, Frank provides invaluable support—lending cattle, offering his property for student activities, and hosting Year 10 work experience. His long-standing involvement with the Clermont Show, both as a committee member and sponsor, reflects his deep-rooted community spirit. For nearly 20 years, Frank and his family have also been generous supporters of the Queensland Working Dog Trials.
Joining this legacy is Nathan Obst, the next rising star of ABC’s Muster Dogs. After completing Year 12, Nathan began his career as a heavy diesel mechanic apprentice. Alongside his trade, he works closely with his dogs to train and manage livestock, offering vital support to farmers across the district. His passion for working dogs and dedication to rural life make him a standout figure in both the paddock and the public eye.
