Join our Community Services Directorate as a Casual Functions and Catering Officer and play a key role in bringing events, celebrations, and community experiences to life across the Isaac Region! As part of the vibrant Civic Venues Department, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality functions and catering services across our halls, centres, and community facilities, helping create memorable moments while contributing to the success of our region’s diverse venues.

To be successful in this position, you will:

  • Demonstrate hands on experience in hospitality, events, or cleaning services, with the ability to deliver high quality venue setups, pack‑downs, and general cleaning duties.
  • Provide exceptional customer service with a positive, team focused approach across programs, events, and community functions.
  • Handle chemicals and cleaning equipment safely and confidently, following all workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Show strong work ethic, professionalism, and reliability, with a commitment to maintaining high standards at all times.
  • Be flexible and available to work rostered shifts between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend support as required, including assisting at other facilities when needed.
  • Work independently and proactively solve problems, using initiative when unexpected tasks or issues arise.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors, representing Council with integrity and respect.
  • Hold a current C Class Open Qld Driver’s Licence, with desirable certifications such as RSA, Food Handlers, or First Aid being an advantage.  

If you are successful in this position, you will receive:

  • Salary $40.52 per hour (Level 1, Stream B)
  • Casual Position: Hours required as per the roster
