An exciting opportunity exists for a full time Asset and Planning Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services Directorate based in Moranbah. Reporting to the Coordinator Design and Planning the role supports the Engineering Services team by providing technical advice, asset management expertise, and program development services across Council’s infrastructure portfolio.
You will play a key role in reviewing development and operational works applications, contributing to the planning and delivery of capital works programs, and identifying external funding opportunities. This is a dynamic position that works across departments and engages with a wide range of stakeholders.
As the Asset and Planning Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping Council’s infrastructure programs. You’ll be responsible for assessing engineering aspects of development and operational works applications, developing and planning capital projects across roads, transport, parks, and recreation infrastructure, and reviewing construction design drawings to provide technical feedback. You’ll manage asset programs, contribute to project delivery, and prepare technical reports to support funding applications. The role also involves coordinating data collection and utilisation tracking, maintaining asset and GIS systems, and contributing to the development of design guidelines and construction standards. Your expertise will help guide policy development and ensure strategic alignment across Council’s infrastructure initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- RPEQ Certification or willingness to obtain (desirable)
- The ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence
If you are successful in this position, we will give you:
- $103,919.64 - $123,078.59 (Stream A, Level 6-8)
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday
- Permanent full time position
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- Up to 14.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
