2025 Traineeship Opportunity – Isaac Regional Council

  
Based in Moranbah

Isaac Regional Council is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Trainee Administration Officer to join our Infrastructure Services Directorate. This is a full-time, fixed-term traineeship starting on Monday 19 January 2026, offering you the chance to gain hands-on experience, develop valuable skills, and complete a Certificate III in Business.

Whether you’re a school leaver, returning to the workforce, or looking for a career change, this traineeship allows you to earn while you learn and work alongside skilled leaders who provide mentoring and support.

About the role
As a Trainee Administration Officer, you’ll:
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, guidelines, templates, and forms.
• Provide exceptional customer service to Isaac residents including answering phones and providing face-to-face support as required.
• Assist Team Leaders, Overseers, and Coordinators with administration, procurement, and financial support.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, and seminars.
• Undertake other administration duties as required.

The role at a glance
Type: Fixed Term – 12 months
Hours: Full-time, 72.5 hours per fortnight
Roster: Monday to Friday, 9-day fortnight (hello long weekends!)

Who we’re looking for:
No prior administration experience is required – just a positive attitude and willingness to learn. You’ll thrive in this role if you:
• Have strong communication skills and enjoy helping people.
• Are organised, proactive, and able to work in a team.
• Are confident using basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office.
• Have completed Year 10 or higher.
• Hold a current driver’s licence (desirable but not essential).
