People and Capability Officer

Reporting to the People and Capability Business Partner, the People and Capability Officer position is responsible for providing support to the People and Capability Business Partners, Management, staff and stakeholders in the area of People and Capability across Council. The People and Capability Officer will play an important role in ‘living’ Council’s organisational values of Community Focus, Caring, Teamwork and Positive Work Ethic and as a result of that, will positively contribute to the direction and culture of Council.
  
The position operates in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment and is responsible for provision of a broad cross range of services, advice and education to the organisation on recruitment and people related processes, as well as providing a broader administrative function to the People and Capability Department.
  
For this position we offer:
  • Salary $43.92 - $47.85 per hour (Stream A, Level 3 - 4)
  • Full Time – 72.5 hours per fortnight (Monday to Friday)
  • Fixed Term - Ceasing June 2026 
  • Location – Based in the Isaac Region
  • 5 weeks annual leave pro-rata @ 17.5% loading
  • 15 days’ personal leave pro rata per annum
  • Up to 14.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
  • RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement (only eligible for full-time employees)

About You:
We are seeking an enthusiastic person who possesses:
  1. Demonstrated experience in human resources administration and end to end recruitment.
  2. High level of computer literacy skills, including Microsoft products and HRIS systems.
  3. Knowledge of awards, certified agreements and workplace laws.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of creative problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making processes.
  5. Two (2) years demonstrated experience in Human Resource or Learning and Development environments.
