Reporting to the Team Leader - Horticulture, this position is responsible for ensuring an integrated approach to the delivery of operational works in the field for the organisation. The Leading Hand position is responsible for the operation and operational servicing of Parks and Recreation areas in the relevant township area. This position will predominately be responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of Parks and Recreational works in liaison with the Team Leader.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  1. Minimum 3 year demonstrated experience working within a similar field or position preferably with Parks and Recreation and Open Space. Other certificates of competency for alternate items would be highly regarded.
  2. Demonstrated ability to provide ‘on the job’ supervision and ‘hands on’ support to staff experience in resourcing staff and contractor management would be highly regarded.
  3. Demonstrated experience creating and adding to a culture of 'Safety First,' in line with the Think ISAAC model as well as the ability to perform works in accordance with Isaac Regional Council's Safe Work Method Statements and Work Instructions. 

 

For this position we offer:

  • Salary $68,968.27 per annum (Stream B, Level 5)
  • Locality allowance, Construction workers allowance, leading hand allowance & On Call allowance.
  • Nominally 76 hours over a 9-day fortnight
  • Hours of work: 6:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
  • 5 weeks annual leave pro-rata @ 17.5% loading
  • Up to 14.5% super in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
  • RDO’s in accordance with IRC’s Certified Agreement
