Hazard Reduction Burns, Moranbah
Published on 09 July 2025
⚠️UPDATE: Hazard reduction burns in Moranbah has been postponed until further notice.
Isaac Regional Council advises Moranbah residents of public safety vegetation management activities (Hazard Reduction Burns) behind the Grosvenor Drive, commencing from:
Saturday, 12 July to 2025 to Sunday, 13 July 2025 (Weather permitting)
This work is being carried out by the Queensland Fire Department to control flammable vegetation prior to the 2025-2026 bushfire season.
Please remove personal items from the marked area to avoid damage during fire operations.

Hazard reduction activities will be subject to prevailing weather conditions. Council advises residents to prepare for possible smoke hazards and related health impacts and recommends the following steps:
- Keep all door and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes.
- Residents with breathing difficulties are advised to remain indoors and have any medication close by.
- Refrain from hanging out washing to minimise damage from falling embers or smoke.
- Retract pool covers and stow any outdoor furniture to prevent ember burns.
- Be aware that snakes and other vermin may be on the move because of the burning bushland.
Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.
