Disposal of gas bottles and fire extinguishers

Council reminds residents of the accepted criteria for disposing of gas bottles and fire extinguishers at landfill facilities.

Gas Bottles

• Accepted up to 9kg only
• Must be empty

Fire Extinguishers

• Any size accepted
• Must be empty

Please do not place gas bottles or fire extinguishers into skips or bins. These items pose a significant risk to people, machinery and landfill operations if disposed of incorrectly.

Items outside of these criteria will not be accepted
