Council advises residents to prepare for possible smoke hazards and related health impacts and recommends the following steps:

  • Keep all door and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes.
  • Residents with breathing difficulties are advised to remain indoors and have any medication close by.
  • Refrain from hanging out washing to minimise damage from falling embers or smoke.
  • Retract pool covers and stow any outdoor furniture to prevent ember burns.
  • Be aware that snakes and other vermin may be on the move because of the burning bushland.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.
