Capital works, Goonyella Road Industrial Land Activation Project

Council advises residents, motorists and businesses that works on the Goonyella Road Industrial Land Activation Project are expected to be completed by the end of August 2026, weather permitting.

Following completion of the upgrade, new traffic conditions and business access arrangements will be introduced. Please follow all signage and directions when travelling through the area.

Council will also undertake rehabilitation works on the existing section of Goonyella Road later in 2026 to further improve road conditions.

Between completion of the current upgrade and commencement of the rehabilitation works, temporary traffic management measures will remain in place on the existing section of Goonyella Road to support the safety of road users and the community.

While these works and associated traffic changes may affect travel times and access, Council will continue to minimise disruption where possible and keep the community informed.

Motorists are advised to drive to conditions and exercise caution when travelling through the area.

The project was proudly funded by the Australian Government Roads to Recovery Program in partnership with Isaac Regional Council.
