Isaac Regional Council wishes to advise the community that Air Dancers will be trialed as a management option this flying fox season at Hood’s Lagoon, Clermont. Air Dancers are wavy, inflatable tube people.

The trial is part of the actions identified in Council’s Hood’s Lagoon Flying Fox Management Plan. There has been some success by other Councils at using Air Dancers.  The intent of the air dancers is to reduce the spread of flying foxes outside of their central roost site at Centenary Park to keep surrounding community areas useable.

Funding has been provided for this and other management actions under the Queensland Government’s Flying Fox Roost Program.

The deployment of air dancers is not expected to impact users of Hood’s Lagoon when in use. Please refrain from approaching or touching the Air Dancers or power cables when in operation.

Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience whilst undertaking the trial of this management action. If you require further information, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227), or alternatively email records@isaac.qld.gov.au.
