Council is continuing to respond to discoloured water and elevated manganese levels in Clermont's water supply.
Water network flushing is ongoing across town, and Council is closely monitoring system performance while working with Queensland Health to address the issue.
As a precaution, parents and carers are advised to use only still bottled water when preparing infant formula until further notice. For health advice, contact the Mackay Public Health Unit's on-call Environmental Health Officer on 0428 469 867.
Bottled water is available now from the Clermont Library for residents who require it.
To assist in resolving the issue, Council has scheduled cleaning of the raw water reservoirs from next week. Non-essential water restrictions remain in place.
Residents experiencing discoloured water should contact Council's Customer Service Centre on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227). Council crews can investigate and, where required, flush nearby water mains.
Until the issue is resolved, residents are advised to avoid washing white clothing.
Council thanks the community for its patience and cooperation while these works continue.
