Isaac Regional Council advises residents that the first round of the fresh meat baiting program for 2025 has been cancelled due to staff shortages.  Council has sought several solutions to continue the delivery of the program with accredited third-party providers however has been unable to secure a provider that can deliver the same service levels that landholders currently receive.

Council apologises for the disruption to this service and ensures residents that recruitment and training are underway with normal operations expected to resume for Round 2 of the baiting program in August/September 2025.

Landholders may purchase premanufactured baits known as Low Risk Fluoroacetic Baits (LRFABs) from rural suppliers at any time throughout the year to maintain continuity of their property baiting with a general approval from Queensland Health.

Landholders are able to apply for a general approval from Queensland Health by completing and submitting an application form downloadable from

https://www.health.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/rtf_file/0020/1361360/ga-low-risk-fluoroacetic-acid-baits-application.rtf.

Applications require supporting information including driver’s licence and a recent rates notice.
