Council advises residents that road rehabilitation works will commence on Capella Street from Monday, 23 November 2026.
Works will include fine milling and profiling of the existing road surface to improve pavement condition, along with crack sealing to address identified defects. These works are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
To ensure the most effective long-term treatment, the pavement will be monitored throughout the wet season. Subject to the outcomes of this monitoring period, the final stage of the project, a bitumen stone chip seal, is planned for early 2027.
Council wishes to assure the community that the milled road surface is not the finished product. Rather, it represents an important assessment and monitoring stage that will help ensure the long-term performance, durability, and effectiveness of the final seal treatment.
Traffic management will be in place during construction, and motorists are asked to follow all signage and directions from traffic controllers. Council appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents, businesses and road users while these important works are undertaken.
