Clermont's efforts are making a difference as water stores continue to

The Clermont community is being thanked for the part it's playing in helping secure the town's water supply, with water stores continuing to improve as residents embrace water-saving measures.
For weeks, locals have adjusted their routines, made conscious choices about water use and supported efforts to reduce demand. Those actions are now contributing to positive results.
Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said the community should be proud of what it has achieved so far.
"Clermont has really rallied together throughout this challenge, and we're starting to see the benefits of those efforts," Mayor said.
"Every household, business and resident who has cut back on water use has helped make a difference. It's a great example of a community looking out for one another and working towards a common goal."
While conditions are improving, Council is encouraging residents to keep up the good work and continue conserving water wherever possible.
Behind the scenes, Council staff continue to work around the clock to keep the Clermont Water Treatment Plant stable and ensure a reliable supply for the community.
"I'd also like to acknowledge our teams who have been working tirelessly to manage the situation and maintain essential services," Mayor said.
"Their dedication, combined with the community's support, has helped us reach this point."
Council would also like to reassure residents that Clermont's tap water remains safe to drink.
Current water restrictions remain in place:
- Personal household water use is permitted
- Watering gardens and lawns is not permitted
- Sprinklers are not permitted
- Filling or topping up swimming pools is not permitted
Bottled water remains available from the Clermont Library during business hours.
