Geotechnical investigation works

Council advises that geotechnical investigation works will be undertaken from Monday, 3 August to Friday, 14 August 2026, between 7am and 5pm, at the following locations to collect subsurface information for the planning and design of future road improvement projects:

• Intersection of Mills Avenue and Goonyella Road, / Moranbah Access Road, Moranbah
• Intersection of Railway Station Road and Moranbah Access Road, Moranbah
• Cotherstone Capella Road (Chainage 0.5 km to 4.0 km)

The investigations will involve drilling, soil sampling and field testing using specialist equipment. Traffic management will be in place where required to ensure the safety of road users and workers.

Motorists may experience minor delays, reduced speed limits and temporary lane closures while the works are underway.

Council encourages all road users to allow additional travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers and all temporary traffic signage.
