Isaac Regional Council advises Moranbah residents of Bushfire Mitigation Hazard Reduction Burns at the Moranbah Rodeo Grounds, Sarchedon Drive, Moranbah, as indicated on the map below.

Thursday, 5 October 2023 from 5pm
Weather permitting

Hazard reduction burns are delivered in cooperation with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services to reduce fuel load in local reserves prior to the bushfire season.

 

Hazard reduction activity will be subject to prevailing weather conditions. Council advises residents to prepare for possible smoke hazards and related health impacts and recommends the following steps:

  • Keep all door and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes.
  • Residents with breathing difficulties are advised to remain indoors and have any medication close by.
  • Refrain from hanging out washing to minimise damage from falling embers or smoke.
  • Retract pool covers and stow any outdoor furniture to prevent ember burns.
  • Be aware that snakes and grass rats may be on the move as a result of the burning bushland.
