Council advises the community that Lions Park on Belyando Avenue, Moranbah will be closed on:

Tuesday, 18 August 2026
From 7am to 2.30pm

This closure is due to repairs and cleanup works following recent vandalism.

To help improve safety and deter future vandalism, CCTV cameras will be installed at Lions Park from Monday, 24 August to Tuesday, 1 September 2026. During the installation period, contractors, vehicles and equipment will be operating within the park, and temporary restrictions may apply around work areas.

The nearest public toilets are located at the Moranbah Fair Shopping Centre, St Francis Drive.

VANDALISM IS A CRIME

Vandalism is the act of damaging or defacing property without permission.

Vandalism creates unsafe environments for our community, results in facility closures for community members who do the right thing, and forces Council to spend a lot of time and money on repairs across the region. These resources can be better spent on improving our communities.

 REPORT TO COUNCIL

Rapid reporting allows Council to quickly address any instances of vandalism and protect the community if the vandalism presents risks.

To report damage to public property, contact Council on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227). Call police on 000 in an emergency or for non-urgent reporting and enquiries call Policelink on 131 444.
