Invasive weed alert Nebo
Published on 21 May 2024
Isaac Regional Council would like to advise residents that a weed Macfadyena unguis-cati, also known as Cat’s Claw Creeper, has been identified in the Nebo area, and residents are encouraged to seek further information and conduct control measures.
Cat’s Claw Creeper is an aggressive and fast-growing vine that mats and smothers vegetation, impacting both flora and fauna.
This vine poses the greatest threat to riparian areas, such as rivers and creeks, and their local inhabitants.
This plant can be recognised by the three claw-shaped tendrils located at the bottom of each leaf.
