Council advises the community of ongoing tree management works within Clermont as part of the winter works program. These essential works will enhance public safety, maintain critical infrastructure, and ensure the long-term health and aesthetic appeal of Clermont’s green spaces.

Works will be undertaken until 1 October 2026.

The project will involve a variety of activities, including:

  • Unsuitable species removal: Targeted tree and vegetation removal where plants growing directly under power lines pose a risk to power supply and public safety as well as removal of dead/declining trees.
  • Infrastructure clearance: Tree removal where trees are causing damage or obstruction to roads, footpaths, and park infrastructure.
  • Arboriculture maintenance: Crown lifting, crown thinning, and weight reduction pruning will be undertaken on other street and park trees to improve their structure and health, and to reduce potential hazards.
  • Offset planting: Removed trees will be replaced with suitable, appropriate species as part of an ongoing offset planting program. This program will be delivered throughout and after the project, ensuring the high standard of public green spaces is maintained.

While every effort will be made to minimise disruption, residents may experience:

  • Temporary traffic control or road closures in work areas.
  • Noise associated with tree removal and maintenance equipment
  • Temporary restricted access to certain park areas
