Council advises that, due to continued variability in raw water being pumped from the Carmila Creek bore field, water supplies cannot currently be treated at the Carmila Water Treatment Plant.

As a result, all residents and businesses are requested to moderate their water usage, and to conserve water wherever possible until further notice.

While water supply is currently being maintained, excessive or unnecessary use may impact system stability.

Residents are advised that potable water is currently being transported into Carmila by tanker. This water continues to meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and remains safe for consumption.

Where possible, water required outside of the Carmila township should be sourced from alternative supplies whilst Council Officers work to restore normal operations at the Carmila Water Treatment Plant.

A further update will be provided at 4pm on Monday, 21 June 2026.

Council thanks residents and businesses for their cooperation and understanding.

Thank you for your patience. For more information, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on 1300 ISAACS (1300 472 227), or email records@isaac.qld.gov.au.
