UPDATE - Water conservation, Carmila
Published on 29 May 2026
UPDATE Sunday, 31 May 2026:
Council advises Carmila residents to continue conserving water. An update will be provided at 4pm on Monday, 1 June 2026.
Council would like to advise that due to continued operational difficulties at the Carmila Water Treatment Plant, all residents and businesses are required to limit water use and conserve water wherever possible until further notice.
While supply is currently being maintained, unnecessary water use may impact system sustainability.
Please be advised that the water is been transported into Carmila via trucks at present and continues to meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and remains safe for consumption.
It would be appreciated if customers from outside of the water service area use other sources to replenish their water stocks, while IRC staff work to bring the Carmila Water Treatment Plant back on line. For information on alternate water supply sources, please contact Council on the number below.
