A great opportunity is available to join our Corporate Properties team as a full-time Painter/Decorator. This hands‑on role helps keep Council buildings and facilities in top shape, with work that’s varied, practical, and makes a real difference across the Isaac region.
What you’ll be doing:
- Using your trade skills to carry out painting and general building maintenance.
- Talking with staff and community members and providing friendly, clear customer service.
- Measuring jobs and working out materials and costs before starting work.
- Applying different finishes—paint, stain, varnish, enamel—using the right tools and techniques.
- Setting up ladders and scaffolding safely and working at heights in line with WHS rules.
- Helping assess building conditions and reporting issues so assets stay compliant and well‑maintained.
- Supporting maintenance programs by quoting, scheduling, ordering materials, and completing building works.
- Mentoring apprentices and passing on practical skills and safe work habits.
- Keeping worksites clean and safe with a strong focus on WHS.
What you’ll need
- Trade qualifications and hands‑on experience in painting and building maintenance (Local Government experience is a bonus).
- C Class Open Manual Driver’s Licence
- White Card/Construction Card
- Ability to pass pre‑employment assessments
