Temporary road closure, Elgin

Isaac Regional Council advises the community of a road closure on Elgin Road, approximately 41km west of the Gregory Developmental Road (see map below).

The road is closed due to a dislodged powerline coming into contact with a fence line and grid. The grid, which crosses the road, is considered to be live. Carmichael Rail Network have closed the road to all traffic until Ergon can undertake rectification works.

Ergon is enroute as of 11:30am, Friday 8 August 2025.

While every effort is being made to minimise disruption, motorists are advised to expect long delays on the road until Ergon has resolved the issue.
