The 2026 Bush Poetry Competition is now open for entries!

If you're an Isaac Resident, this is your chance to share your original poem and win a $200 prize!

• Best Original Poem – Primary school ($200 prize)
• Best Original Poem – High School ($200 prize)
• Best Original Poem – over 18 ($200 prize)

Entries close: Sunday, 30 August 2026

Winners announced: Monday, 7 September 2026

Winners will be invited to perform at the Bush Poet’s Smoko on Sunday, 13 September at the Nebo Museum.

There are even more chances to show your poetry prowess and have a shot at winning, no registration required! Come along to the 25 Year Celebration of the Bush Poets Smoko and enter the ‘Best Performance’ category, voted by the crowd. You will still have a chance to shine and win a $300 prize!  Just show up ready to impress with your best poetry voice.
