Local businesses across the Isaac region are being encouraged to attend the Renewable Energy Supply Chain Forum in Moranbah on 18 March 2026.

The forum will bring renewable energy developers progressing projects in the Isaac region together with regional suppliers to discuss upcoming work, procurement requirements and how local businesses can position themselves for contracts.

Isaac Regional Council Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said, “As renewable energy investment grows in the region, we want to ensure local businesses are prioritised.”

“Our region has delivered large scale projects for decades. The capability is here. What matters now is early engagement and clear procurement pathways.”

There are more than 30 renewable energy generation and storage projects across the Isaac region in various stages of planning, approval and operation. Together they represent significant construction activity and long-term operational contracts.

Mayor Vea Vea said Council expects renewable energy projects to deliver tangible local outcomes.

“Through our Renewable Energy Community Benefit Agreement framework, we have set clear expectations,” she said.

“We expect local procurement. We expect local employment. We expect developers to work with local supply chains wherever possible.”

Isaac Business Chamber President Nathan Corbett said the forum will give businesses direct access to decision makers.

“This forum gives renewable energy projects the opportunity to clearly demonstrate how they can create local economic development benefits in our region,” Mr Corbett said.

“It starts with local businesses gaining visibility of upcoming work, time to prepare and fair opportunities to bid.”

Resource Industry Network General Manager Dean Kirkwood said the forum would give regional businesses greater clarity around procurement processes and help them to position themselves for upcoming renewable energy projects.

“This is about making that capability visible and ensuring regional businesses are prepared. Many already have highly transferable skills from delivering major resources and infrastructure projects, and this is about making sure that experience is recognised and considered from the onset, “ Mr Kirkwood said.

The Renewable Energy Supply Chain Forum is hosted by the Isaac Business Chamber in partnership with Isaac Regional Council, Resource Industry Network and the Queensland Government. It will run from 8am to 1pm at the Isaac Events Centre, Mills Avenue, Moranbah.

Local businesses and suppliers are encouraged to attend. Register online via the Resource Industry Network website.
