Upgrade works to the Clermont BMX track have now been completed.

To restore the track to a safe standard with optimal riding conditions, Council has:

  • Mowed and slashed grass to make areas accessible.
  • Removed root systems growing through the track surface.
  • Reshaped and levelled the track to fix wash outs and holes.
  • Applied Bike Tracks Australia TrackSkin polymer surface solution to the track to stop weather damage and weeds. This is the same surfacing applied to Macarthur BMX in Sydney, Mackay BMX Track and Sleepman MNX SX in Brisbane.

Council is now inviting community members and groups interested in using and managing the track to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).

Expression of Interest opportunities

There are two ways to get involved through an EOI:

  1. Lease and management (preferred option)
Council is looking for an incorporated community group to lease and manage the facility. Structured and sustainable use are a must.

  2. Community Activation Proposal
Where no formal club exists or applies, Council will consider proposals from individuals or informal groups that:
  • Encourage informal community use of the track
  • Support youth engagement and recreational use
  • Operate under Council-managed oversight and conditions
Under this pathway, Council will be primarily responsible for maintenance and risk management.

Council looks forward to working with the community to make sure Clermont gets the most it can out of its upgraded BMX track. Our goal is to maximise its use for recreation, participation and community connection.
