The Isaac Affordable Housing Trust (IAHT) has officially opened 11 new affordable housing units in Moranbah adding to the growing portfolio of 49 across the Isaac region.

The Rosella Drive project, has delivered three units at 1 Rosella Court and eight units at 27–29 Rosella Court. Built by Marlee Constructions, the homes were supported through funding from the Queensland Government.

Mayor of Isaac, Kelly Vea Vea, said the latest opening shows how quickly the Trust is building momentum.

“Twelve months ago we delivered 16 units on Mills Avenue. Then came three more on Bushlark Drive. Today, we add another 11 at Rosella Court. In just one year, that’s 30 new homes. This isn’t talk, it’s delivery. These homes will be filled with people who keep our communities running,” Mayor Vea Vea said.

Minister for Housing and Public Works and Minister for Youth, Hon. Sam O’Connor MP, praised the Trust’s impact.

“By working with partners like the Isaac Affordable Housing Trust, the Crisafulli Government is making sure resource communities are not just gateways to mines but places where people want to live. The volume of new homes opening this year is a testament to the Trust’s hard work and will be transformational for this proud regional community.”

Chair of the Isaac Affordable Housing Trust, Councillor Melissa Westcott, said the pipeline of projects is expanding.

“The Trust is stepping up delivery across the region. Each project means more stability for families, more support for essential workers and more options for seniors. Our goal is to use the IAHT model to provide housing solutions in other Isaac townships as well, with Dysart planned as the next community to benefit.”

The Isaac Affordable Housing Trust is led by a volunteer board in partnership with Isaac Regional Council. With continued Queensland Government funding and industry support, the Trust is proving to be a strong model for tackling housing need and building sustainable communities across the Isaac region.
