About the department:
The Safety and Resilience Department delivers an integrated approach to organisational safety, wellbeing and resilience services across Council. The team supports workplace health, safety and wellbeing functions, workers compensation and rehabilitation processes, disaster management support and a range of initiatives focused on supporting Council employees and the wider community.
About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Wellbeing and Resilience Partner, this role will provide administrative support to the Wellbeing and Resilience team while developing foundational skills and experience across workplace wellbeing, rehabilitation and business administration functions.
Throughout your traineeship, you will:
- Assist with end of month reporting activities.
- Provide administrative support to the Wellbeing and Resilience team.
- Maintain electronic filing systems, task registers and accurate records.
- Assist with administration of the Lucidity system and Safety intranet (SPARK).
- Update wellbeing documentation as required.
- Support the broader Safety and Resilience team with administrative tasks and projects.
- Deliver professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Gain experience using a variety of office systems and software.
- Complete on-the-job learning and formal study requirements as part of your Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
The role at a glance:
- Fixed Term Full Time 2-year Traineeship
- Based in Moranbah
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight (Monday to Friday)
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading
- RDO’s in accordance with Council Policy
- Up to 14.5% super in accordance with Council Policy

About you:
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has completed a minimum of Year 10.
- Holds a current C Class Queensland Driver Licence.
- Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn.
- Has good communication and interpersonal skills
- Can work well within a team environment.
- Has basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
- Maintains attention to detail and professionalism.
- Has an interest in administration, wellbeing, safety or resilience.
- Previous administration experience or awareness is desirable but not essential.
